Price compared. We took our Porsche Macan to ELITE because it was out of warranty and we thought we could save a bit. Their quote seemed high so we got a second quote from Porsche. You be the judge. Replace control panel: ELITE $3,353 Porsche $2,697 Brake fluid flush: ELITE $237 Porsche told us the fluid was clear and was changed only a year earlier. This is very troubling!!! Tire plug: ELITE $55 Actually $10 ELITE quoted us $292 for a analysis. The actual charge $308. Porsche quoted $250 for an analysis, and charged us $250. ELITE wanted $950 over what Porsche did the job. If you're going to charge shop fees with an analysis, then you should include it in your quote. It's only $16 so why would you not disclose that.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Susan. Regarding the control panel replacement, this can be a complex repair. A portion of the original estimate included programming that we were not certain would be required. That should have been clearly communicated during the initial discussion, and I sincerely apologize if that was not explained thoroughly. We appreciate you pointing this out, and we will be improving how we communicate these details moving forward. For transparency, remote programming is $300, and the part itself must be sourced directly from Porsche, which contributes to the overall cost. In reference to the brake fluid flush, you are correct that the fluid appeared clear. However, brake fluid service is not based on appearance alone. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture over time. Our testing showed a moisture content of 4%, which is at the upper limit of the tester and indicates the fluid is due for replacement to maintain proper braking performance and safety. For the tire repair, our $55 service includes dismounting the tire and performing an internal patch. This method allows us to inspect the inside of the tire for any additional damage and provides a more reliable, long-term repair. External plugs are considered a temporary solution and are not something we offer due to safety and liability concerns. Regarding the diagnostic and shop fees, you are absolutely right. These should have been clearly disclosed upfront, and I apologize that this was not the case. We are addressing this internally to ensure better communication with all future clients. We truly value your feedback and the opportunity to improve. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact us at 401-736-8942 and ask for Sam Paiva. I would be happy to speak with you directly.
