Sam was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Mike was very friendly and funny. Good people. This is not an “indictment” of Elite. I sense that they are an excellent repair shop and by and large they perform accordingly. Brought Audi in for diagnostics at $150 but was disappointed with results. Inconclusive, and required 3 additional follow- up tests at $150 each. I would have spent $600 before anything was done to the car. Thought that wasn’t fair. In fact, the results of the first test revealed what I already knew—Engine code 00016 and 00017. Expected that Elite would do a thorough diagnostic and solve the problem. Told Sam that I wanted the $150 fee waived. He apologized for my disappointment and after a lengthy discussion, he waived the fee. Would I use Elite again? Definitely but not for anything that would require diagnostic “deep sea diving”. Expensive. Thanks, Sam.

Good Morning Mr. Mendes, First of all, thank you so much for complimenting the staff here at Elite Auto Repair. It is unfortunate that you were disappointed with the diagnosis procedures that we would have had perform in order to figure out your issues with your vehicle. The $150 evaluation is part of our warning light procedure and it isn't just a $150 to scan codes and give you a report on what you already knew. We did scan the codes for your issue and it did bring up what you already knew however, with the issue you had on your vehicle it isn't easy to figure out without doing the further testing we required. So part of that evaluation is looking into your problem with our Audi resources that allow us to know the testing procedures that are required to establish the solution for your vehicle. The three procedures we asked of you were worst case scenario, meaning that there are three tests that can find you the solution to your Audi's problem. If needed we would have had to do all three tests which would make your total bill $600, but if we were to find the solution in the first test, your bill would have been $300 with the evaluation included. Also, we did find that you had cam shaft sensor's and VVT solenoids replaced and with your issue those two fixes are the most common fixes. It is most unfortunate that the repair facility that you brought it to replaced parts that did not fix your issue. This reinforces why there needs to be proper diagnostic testing and procedures in order to properly fix your vehicle without just guessing and replacing parts. Finally, it is unfortunate but cars these days have over a mile of wire in them, with some vehicles (especially Europeans) up to 70 computers that all could have something to do with a possible problem. These cars require a lot of testing in order to find a problem. Every feature that a car has (for example, heated seats, cameras, sensors, windows, and everything electrical) are powered by computers and modules that allow them to have those features, so there never really is an easy fix anymore. We hope to have another opportunity in the future to service your Audi.

Thanks to Elite (Mike and Nate) for their honest approach. They did a diagnostic on my car to determine why the convertible top is not always responding. After checking it all out, they thought they resolved it, But wait, it didn’t work after all. They took the charge off. While that sounds like the right thing to do, they did it without my asking. Thanks Elite.
